LAZO (in Spanish meaning ‘tie’ or ‘link’) is an art collective that brings together artists and related practitioners of Latin American & Caribbean descent to create participatory projects and exhibitions. LAZO’s current members are Claudia Cortínez, Alva Mooses, Rodrigo Moreira, and Mauricio Cortes Ortega. Founded by Claudia Cortinez & Alva Mooses, LAZO also functions as an online resource, exhibition platform, and archive for contemporary Latinx artists. The collective and related programming aims to create dialogue among artists working primarily in NYC and Latin American cities that reflect on histories connected to the Americas, addressing cultural and material identities through a multi-centered lens.

LAZO is currently hosted by The Clemente as Artists-in-Residence through 2022. For more info: openlazo.com
