Superficies is an ongoing series (2019-2022) of paper-pulp works and photograms, where I salvage roof panels from demolition sites in NYC and create paper casts of them, juxtaposing those embossed textures with photographs taken of various floor tiles and building surfaces in Buenos Aires, such as the patio of my grandparents' house. Rust particles transfer to the paper from the tin roof panels, while the images of floors are rendered as toned cyanotypes, where tannins stain the paper into weathered earthy surfaces. The photographic pieces recreate close-up details of floor patterns and highlight all the marks on its surface, seeming to transform paper into the marble material.

On view in Aquello, curated by Dilalica at Instituto Cervantes New York, February 2022, and Constructed Sites/ Unfamiliar Selves, curated by Jennifer Gerow at the Lower East Side Printshop, NY, NY.
